“Virtual Reality is one of the latest technologies to bring both disruption and opportunity to traditional industries … Digital Jersey is delighted to support this event, bringing together artists with technologists to encourage the development of new skills and new business ideas.”

Working with Snap Design and Digital, Virtex Studios is a founding member of FLUX - a new movement focused on collaborating with artists and organisations, and assisting and facilitating the creation of virtual artwork. Their first event, FLUX ZERO, was held at Liberty Wharf and generated huge interest from the media and the public alike.
Artists were given access to six different tools, and encouraged to create a piece in their own style, but with a 'virtual twist'. Utilising the expertise of our Head of Technology, Tim McGuinness, we mentored and worked alongside the artists; including organising several workshops with virtual reality experts recruited by Virtex Studios.
"Watching them work in the virtual world and seeing them get so excited about it that they got tangled up in the wires was also very entertaining."
In addition to virtual reality booths and headsets, projections, aluminium 2D prints and 3D models were also created and displayed, as to further chart the processes and potential of this revolutionary medium. The evening also included themed cocktails and clothing, creating a truly immersive atmosphere that felt world's away from our Liberty Wharf venue.
The event was a success, with the public walking through works created by Jersey’s best artistic talent where for the first time, the only limit was the artist’s imagination.
